Total time:
Serves: 36 cookies
  • 3 Cups Flour
  • ¾ Cup Butter Softened
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla
  • 1 Tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 Tsp Baking Powder
  • ½ Tsp Salt
  • ½ Tsp Almond Extract (Optional)
  1. Start by pre-heating the oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Using a mixer, in a medium bowl, beat together the butter and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add in the vanilla and almond extract and then beat in one egg at a time on medium speed until combined.
  4. Next mix in the baking soda and baking powder and one cup of flour using a wooden spoon or spatula.
  5. Add in the remaining flour one cup at a time, mixing together as you go.
  6. On a flat surface (I used a large wooden cutting board) sprinkle with flour and then take half the dough and roll-out to about ¼ -1/2 inch think using a rolling pin.
  7. Using a circle cookie cutter or the rim of a glass, cut-out individual cookies and place them on a greased cookie sheet or one lined with parchment paper.
  8. If you want a more traditional sugar cookie, sprinkle the cookies with a little additional sugar before placing them in the oven.
  9. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
